Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish model and actress. Her feature film debut was a tiny role on her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she played the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modeling after she was approached. The outcome proved to be a lucrative career. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, that was a rule she followed in her acting. After catching the eye of the director of casting in a James Bond movie, she participated of A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody was selected as one of the twelve most promising young actors in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody was 18 years old in the role of Doody in Bond, was and is still the oldest Bond actress to date. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA member Siobhan Doovan. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 television adaptation from The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking perhaps her most well-known role in her career in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody is a co-star with three actors that have played James Bond. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She later moved to Hollywood. The choice was made to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she went on to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody was part of The 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine portrayed her at a ceremony to receive an award. In 2004, Doody was in the film with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody filmed a role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture. Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to star in a 2011 remake of horror classic The Asphyx but the project later stalled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way which was a film from 2014. The film was awarded the Almeria film award on the 21st of November, 2018.
